RET1000 – Integrated audio/acceleration measurement node for characterizing wheel-rail interaction
Compact IP67 measurement node for applications under vehicles
The RET1000 is a compact, energy-efficient acquisition unit for recording mechanical load data and noise during operation. The measurement node provides data for characterizing interfaces between vehicles and infrastructure (e.g., wheel-rail interaction).
Key Features
- Multi-channel monitoring of noise and acceleration
Records raw data from microphones and acceleration sensors with accurate time stamps, enabling the identification of more complex relationships in the wheel-rail context. - Robust, minimalist design
Consists only of a main unit with integrated antenna – easy to install and ideal for harsh environments. - Mounting on the bogie
Tested and qualified for use directly on the bogie under dynamic load.
Technical Specifications
- 3 internal microphones with changeable membranes and internal heating
- Bus Connection for external acceleration / shock sensors and climate sensor
- 2 digital inputs and 2 relay outputs
- Positioning using internal GNSS/GPS module, separate GPS module on roof or offline without GPS
- Power Supply: Onboard power supply 24V/36V/48V/72-110V
- Mounting: Bogie mounting
- Connectivity: Internal data memory and cloud connectivity using internal dual SIM LTE
- Local Intelligence: Internal Quad Core CPU with possibility for intelligent realtime data analysis and local processing
Applications
- Load-Based Maintenance Planning
- Digital Twin Data Collection
- Directional Usage and Route Profiling
- Mechanical Stress Monitoring
- Fatigue Risk Identification
- Harsh Environment Deployment (e.g. bogie-mounted)
Why Choose RET1000?
If you need a robust device for collecting raw data to measure mechanical stress or wheel-rail effects over short to medium-term measurements in operation, the RET1000 is the ideal solution.
For simpler systems for operational use with intelligent data preprocessing, we recommend RAILCTX and MOVCTX.
