The RAR4000 is a compact, rugged router designed specifically for use in rail and automotive environments. It is designed for high reliability in demanding conditions and supports LTE cellular communications, high-precision GPS, and an integrated Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch. Optionally, the device can be equipped with 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and full redundancy in power and communication – ideal for modern transport environments with high availability requirements.
In contrast to mobile edge computers, the RAR4000 is consistently focused on its core functions as a data router and switch. Mesh networking and software containers are not supported, making it ideal for scenarios where simplicity, reliability, and performance are paramount. Optional secure remote access (VPN) is available to enable protected communication and remote diagnostics.
