Careers at Parametric

Smiling technical documentation specialist wearing headphones and working on a laptop in a bright office.

At Parametric, we build data-based solutions that make public transport vehicles and infrastructure more efficient. Our sensors measure all kinds of stuff, sometimes things even we didn’t know could be measured. Our algorithms automagically learn everything and tell our customers where they can save money. But our online documentation for all that really needs someone who actually understands what we do (and writes better than we do).

Your job title would be:

Technical Documentation Specialist

Workload: Hourly basis, starting with around 8 hours a week (so our R&D can follow).
Location: Remote-first, but you must be resident around CET time zone. We work and fix things fast. There‘s no time travel yet, so we need real-time collaboration.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll help turn bursts of engineering genius (and occasional chaos) into structure
  • You’ll turn cryptic tech talk into clear and correct textual and visual documentation that normal people can read and understand
  • And you’ll explain systems that sometimes surprise even us
  • Occasionally, you’ll need to politely but persistently extract the information you need from us
  • Bonus points if you stay sane despite the founder’s constant stream of new ideas

What you bring:

  • Talent for technical texting, simplification and good looking visual representations
  • A basic understanding of technology, electronics, and web-based software. We appreciate curiosity more than copy-paste confidence
  • Excellent English and German — ideally better than Deepl‘s and ChatGPT’s
  • Fast comprehension, structured, pragmatic and results-driven work style
  • You know that Markdown wasn’t an ’90s boy band member
  • You are able to use generative AI for documentation, not just for cat memes
  • Some experience in the mysterious special world of rail transport would be a plus
  • (Perfect also for students who want to gain real life experience while studying)

What we offer:

  • Collaboration with top engineers (who can write, but prefer programming/soldering)
  • Flexible hours (but you‘re working with us, not for us), fair hourly pay
  • Work that matters — improving efficiency and saving money in public transport

Direct applications only. No agencies, no recruiters, no PowerPoint résumés.

A simple “Hi, I can write and understand a bit of tech, and I think I can handle you guys. Look here what I‘ve done...” is a great start. BTW: We also really encourage women to apply, since we like balanced teams! - Contact: jobs@parametric.ch
