The RET Gateway enables the integration of external data sources into Parametric's RET measurement system and provides a clean interface for the integration, analysis, and transmission of operating and diagnostic data in the railway and infrastructure sector.
Function and application
The RET Gateway is used to transfer and process real-time data from external control systems, vehicle recorders, logging systems, databases, and other sources.
This data is fed into the RET system as measurement channels, where it is available for analysis, correlation, and visualization.
Communication with connected systems takes place via Ethernet, while additional bus interfaces such as CAN, MVB, IBIS, or other fieldbuses are available on request. Thanks to its stable design and compliance, the gateway is suitable for both stationary infrastructure applications and mobile use in vehicles.
Intelligent data processing
The integrated AI accelerator (neural processing unit) enables large amounts of unstructured data to be analyzed directly at the edge. This allows patterns, anomalies, or changes in status to be detected and evaluated in real time—without having to transfer large amounts of data to central systems.
Thanks to a modern software container architecture, different evaluation programs for connected data sources can run in parallel and be developed, deployed, and updated cleanly.

Network and Connectivity
The RGW4000 features modern, versatile network equipment:
- 1 × Gigabit WAN port, also usable for configuration and functional testing
- 3 × 100 Mbit Ethernet ports for connected systems or sensors
- Optional WLAN for local communication
An integrated hardware switch supports port-based VLANs, allowing networks to be securely separated and data flows to be controlled in a targeted manner. In addition, the gateway offers redundancy options for modems and power supplies to ensure maximum availability in critical applications.
Communication and location
For stable and location-based communication, the gateway is equipped with:
- LTE mobile communications module
- Integrated GPS receiver
This enables precise time and position referencing as well as mobile use in trains, service stations, or along the infrastructure.
