RAILCTX is designed for local control in rail operations. The device records vibrations, shocks, acoustics, and environmental data at critical vehicle and infrastructure points, evaluating signals locally rather than transmitting raw data streams.
RAILCTX works together with the Parametric Cloud software, but can also operate autonomously. Event detection and response always happen locally and deterministically, independent of an active cloud connection - the cloud link remains important for configuration, monitoring and evidence. Depending on the application, RAILCTX can therefore be used flexibly: as a pure monitoring device, or as a real-time control device that switches relays and digital outputs locally and sends SMS alerts.
First and foremost among its applications is intelligent lubrication: RAILCTX detects relevant events directly on the vehicle and immediately triggers the lubrication pump. Other typical use cases include geofencing and ensuring vehicles are used as intended.
Processing can run with local deterministic logic, in the cloud, or as a data streamer together with MEC AI edge computers. RAILCTX can be trained using RET (Rail Efficiency Toolkit) for deriving thresholds and patterns.
RAILCTX operationalizes physical reality in rail operations - through local event detection, traceable evidence, and scalable edge integration.
All inputs and outputs are processed locally and deterministically: RAILCTX responds immediately to detected events, without relying on an active cloud connection.
